Donor Advised Funds

Donor-Advised funds are one of the easiest and most tax-advantageous ways to contribute and help the cats.

A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is like an investment account just to support non-profit organizations. When you contribute cash, securities, or other assets to a DAF you are generally eligible to take an immediate tax deduction.

Your charitable gift now belongs to the DAF’s sponsoring organization (such as Fidelity Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, or Oregon Community Foundation), and those funds are invested for tax-free growth. You become a DAF advisor, and you can then recommend grants to a non-profit like FCCO.

How to Recommend a DAF Grant

  1. Log in to your DAF sponsor's website, such as Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, or your community foundation.

  2. Search for Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon or FCCO’s EIN: 93-1168181.

  3. Enter your grant amount.

  4. Let us know it's coming so we can thank you and make sure your gift is directed exactly as you intended.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I receive a tax receipt?
Your tax benefit came when you contributed to your DAF, so your DAF sponsor provides that receipt. We'll send a thank you acknowledging your grant.

Can I set up recurring grants?
Quite possibly. Many DAF sponsors allow you to schedule recurring grants, which provide steady support that helps us plan for the year ahead.
