The Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon (FCCO) has grown over its 20 year history from holding 12 clinics per year to 180 clinics this year. From our first clinic of 16 cats, we have remained dedicated to the humane treatment of feral cats and to the prevention of future generations — and we are now celebrating our 75,000th surgery! This is a testament to our focus and dedication, and a reminder of how important our services are to the community. Over the years we have improved and expanded our spay/neuter facilities. Now it is necessary for us to grow again.

After an exhaustive search we found a wonderful building in Southwest Portland. It met our key criteria: a structure without major issues, at least double our square footage, easily accessible, centrally located, and with adequate parking. We are poised to transform this 6,900 square foot building into a regional spay/neuter facility.

The building was purchased through generous support from an angel donor. Our capital campaign for $800,000 will fund tenant improvements, building upgrades, and equipment. At this point we have raised more than three quarters of our goal. This building, our first, is a very exciting opportunity to expand our services for the cats and our community. We are incredibly grateful to Leslie B. Durst and the Ed Cauduro Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation, as well other generous donors for their support.

To better serve our community, we are preparing to...

Expand Surgical Capabilities, providing services for 10,000 cats per year within the Portland metropolitan area and other target areas.

Increase Services for cats and caregivers such as additional vaccines and follow-up exams; a cat food bank; and providing shelters, trapping, and transport support. In the future limited services for low-income individuals’ pet cats may also be offered.

Enhance Public Awareness to reach greater targeted populations. Education, as the root of all change, is a key part of our organization’s mission.
