CertifiCAT

Feral, stray and abandoned cats qualify for the CertifiCAT program. Housecats, or those living as part of a human family, do not qualify. The CertifiCAT program is offered in cities where FCCO spay/neuter clinics are not held.

Cat During Surgery

The Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon's CertifiCAT program is a partnership between FCCO and participating veterinarians. The program is designed to provide affordable spay and neuter surgery for feral cats who have dedicated caregivers. The caregivers must be currently feeding the cats and commit to feeding and caring for the cats on a permanent basis following surgery.

Only feral, stray and abandoned cats qualify for the CertifiCAT program. Housecats, or those living as part of a human family, do not qualify. The CertifiCAT program is offered in limited cities right now where FCCO spay/neuter clinics are not held. The program work s as follows:

  • Caregivers of feral cats call FCCO and go through a standard screening process to ensure the cats they are feeding qualify for the program.
  • After being qualified, caregivers purchase a $20 certificate from FCCO redeemable at participating veterinary clinics.
  • Participating veterinarians will provide routine spay/neuter surgeries, rabies and FVRCP vaccines, and ear tips (the removal of 1/8th of an inch on the top of the right ear) in their clinic. Any additional services and related fees are the responsibility of the caregiver.

The CertifiCAT program is currently offered in the Astoria/Warrenton area. If you live in the area, please contact Jan at 503-436-9522. We plan to expand the program to other areas, so please check back.
